2021-2022 Merriman-Weare Classic MVP Award
The Merriman-Weare Classic is named in honor of Robert E. Merriman and Nancy Weare Merriman, the grandparents of former Trojan, Nick Shenberger. Bob and Nancy were long-time hockey fans who attended many games during the Islanders successive Stanley Cup wins in the 80's. They were avid supporters of high school athletics and promoted team play, sportsmanship and integrity above personal successes. The recipient of this award "Hershey Trojans Player of the Game" for the Merriman-Weare Classic is decided by the coaching staffs of both teams. The player is a junior or senior who demonstrates the qualities of overall personal performance, team play, integrity and sportsmanship.
